The Indigenous Graduate Student Association provides an outlet for generating a sense of community and belonging for Indigenous graduate students at Syracuse University and SUNY ESF. We aim to provide a sense of visibility for the community’s Indigenous students, as well as provide awareness and education of the Haudenosaunee and other Indigenous cultures.
Our objectives are
- To provide an academic, social, and cultural support system for Indigenous graduate students attending Syracuse University and SUNY ESF.
- To provide a safe place where Indigenous students feel welcomed and accepted.
- To provide visibility and awareness of Indigenous peoples’ issues.
- To provide education to the Syracuse University and SUNY ESF community of Haudenosaunee cultures and traditions as well as those of other Indigenous groups.
