Master’s degree candidates who will complete their coursework and degree requirements by August 2022 are invited to participate in Commencement in May 2022.
It is the student’s responsibility to know and fulfill all degree requirements. Participation in Convocation and Commencement ceremonies does not indicate that degree requirements have been completed.
Graduating students must notify the University that they intend to graduate through the File Diploma Request process on MySlice. This process must be completed to ensure inclusion in the degree certification review process for receipt of commencement information and, once the degree is awarded, the diploma.
To receive timely May 2022 Commencement information from the Office of Special Events, you must complete the File Diploma Request process by:
November 1, 2021 for all December 2021 expected graduates.
March 1, 2022 for all May 2022, July 2022, and August 2022 expected graduates.
Doctoral degree recipients who earn their degrees in June 2021, August 2021, and December 2021 are eligible to participate in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony and Commencement. Doctoral candidates who expect to earn their degrees in May 2022 MUST complete all their degree requirements (including submission of final dissertation and signed title page) by April 15, 2022.
Questions regarding the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony should be directed to the Graduate School at 315-443-4145.
