Peter Vanable | Associate Provost for Graduate Studies and Dean
Peter sets the charter for graduate studies and the Graduate School at Syracuse University. He collaborates across campus and with external constituencies to advance the graduate profile and forges new opportunities for students and scholars. Peter continues his work with students as a professor advising doctoral candidates in psychology.

Gabrielle Chapman | Associate Dean
Gabby provides oversight of many of our day-to-day operations. Together with her team comprised of Graduate Funding, Information Management, and Graduate Degree Certification, Gabby leads initiatives in support of graduate students, ensuring their success at the University.
Stacey Royer | Administrative Assistant
Stacey supports the Dean’s Office and maintains smooth office operations for the Graduate School. As the face of the Graduate School and the liaison to the Graduate Student Organization, Stacey directs students, faculty, and others to the appropriate resources they seek.
Amy Sloane-Garris | Executive Director for Strategic Initiatives
Amy works closely with enrollment officers and administrators to identify opportunities to bring graduate and professional students to our University. Her team partners to provide strategic guidance and implementation support on a variety of key initiatives for the schools and colleges.
Tracy Balduzzi | Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives
Tracy provides stewardship of key initiatives related to graduate and professional student engagement throughout their journey with Syracuse University. She creates, implements, and manages such initiatives in alignment with the University’s Academic Plan.
Graduate Information Management
John Sickmon | Associate Director, Information Management
John oversees information management needs associated with online graduate programs and a variety of University-level initiatives relative to supporting graduate education and associated systems operations. He works to refine existing IT solutions and implement new, strategic solutions to improve operational efficiencies.
Ellen Hobbs | Graduate Awards Manager
Ellen manages graduate funding, coordinating with the schools, colleges, and departments that support students through awards, grants, and other resources. Her work includes ensuring smooth processing, on which students, departments, and centers can depend.
Marrika Flowers-Dorsey | Graduate Award Coordinator
In line with Graduate Funding’s charge, Marrika handles the posting of graduate awards. She works closely with the various departments across campus to make certain awards are posted accurately and in a timely manner.

Professional and Career Development
Glenn Wright | Director of Programs
Glenn provides oversight for the TA Program, services for international graduate students, and the Future Professoriate Program. He works closely with University faculty and staff to support graduate student professional development and directs the Graduate School Press.
Daniel Olson-Bang | Director, Professional and Career Development
Dan and his team focus on the development and delivery of a wide range of career services programs specific to the needs of graduate students. He meets regularly with doctoral and postdoctoral scholars to help them chart individualized career paths, prepare application materials and provide guidance on professional opportunities.

Tracy Bauer | Graduate Career Development Specialist
Tracy is responsible for the delivery of career and professional development coaching for graduate students in STEM disciplines. Her efforts, specifically focused on master’s students, include coordinating programming and guiding placements.

Shawn Loner | Teaching Assistant Program Coordinator
Shawn supports graduate students serving in a Teaching Assistant role, including the planning and delivery of the TA Orientation program and annual programming for TAs. He oversees the selection and training of graduate student Teaching Mentors and administers the Outstanding TA Award.
Peg De Furia | Assessment and Program Support Specialist
Peg provides assessment support and research to support programming initiatives for the Graduate School. Her work also includes providing administrative and instructional support for the English conversation partner service for international graduate students, the Excellence in Graduate Education Faculty Recognition Award, and the Graduate School’s Dissertation Boot Camp.
Dina Ioannidis | Office Coordinator
Dina provides administrative support for the Programs Office’s operations. She is responsible for the maintenance of the Graduate School website and produces the Graduate Student Newsletter.
Christopher Flanagan | Postdoctoral Researcher
Chris promotes career initiatives for doctoral candidates in the humanities. His work is supported by a grant for National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Next-Gen Humanities Planning.
Graduate Degree Certification
Kristina Ashley | Graduate Program Coordinator
Kristina advises graduate students and scholars on the steps necessary for degree completion, including submittal of the program of study, request for examination, and thesis/dissertation defense. She provides the checks and balances between students and their programs of study to ensure compliance with all requirements in preparation for graduation.
