The Summer Funding Competition provides up to 30 dissertation fellowships to advanced doctoral students. The summer dissertation fellowship provides $4,000 each to a select group of outstanding doctoral students to facilitate progress towards completion of their dissertation. Funding can be used to offset cost of living expenses and/or to cover research-related expenses.
Applicants for the funding must be doctoral students in good standing, ABD status or have completed all required coursework and qualifying/comprehensive exams, committed to making significant progress during the following summer, and provide confirmation the award will serve as the primary source of summer funding.
Process
To apply for this award, students must complete the Summer Dissertation Fellowship application. Applicants are required to provide a brief narrative, current CV and a letter of support from their dissertation advisor. Recipients are required to submit a final report to the Dean of the Graduate School and dissertation advisor by the date indicated on their award notice.
